Macna Othano RTX, gloves waterproof

A short-cuffed glove with a solid protector at the knuckles and a reinforced leather palm, suited for cold conditions.

The Othano consists of goat leather reinforced with an extra layer at the palm. It is lined, insulated, and fitted with a waterproof Raintex membrane, making it suitable for cold riding conditions.

Your knuckles are protected by a preformed RISC™ 3D protector, which is impact absorbent and feels comfortable as it’s made of temper foam. Protection at the palm is made of thermoplastic rubber (TPR) that offers impact absorption and abrasion resistance.

This glove features Macna's Ergothumb™ construction, meaning the thumb and index finger are made of one and the same panel of fabric. This reduces seams and pressure points whilst also giving a wrinkle-free look.

To raise your comfort some more, Macna opted for the in-house developed 30° Brace™ at the wrist strap. This ensures full freedom of movement for the wrist after strapping up.

Heat-conductive fabric is fitted at the tips of the index fingers. Thanks to the Touch Tip, you’ll be able to operate touch screens without taking your gloves off.

Synthetic Nubuck

Brushed synthetic leather which is soft, flexible, breathable and has the look of real suede.
Bemberg™

An artificial textile fiber obtained from natural materials, including cellulose from a variety of botanical sources, and featuring a silky texture, used as a lining inside gloves in order to offer a pleasant and comfortable contact zone.

Raintex

Much of Macna’s gear is fitted with a waterproof Raintex membrane that prevents rainwater from penetrating whilst enabling vapor drops to make their way through. These membranes keep you free from both sweat and rainwater.

Raintex membranes are incorporated into Macna’s waterproof garments in different ways. Some feature a fixed membrane and others are fitted with a detachable one. There are also jackets with a waterproof liner, which means the waterproof membrane and thermal liner are combined to create a single layer.

Touch Tip

Touch screens dominate the modern day and age. Smartphones, tablets, and even more important for us motorcyclists: navigation systems. It is nice those screens work by touch, but that’s not really helpful when you’re wearing gloves.

That’s why Maca opts for heat-conductive fabric at the tips of the index fingers. These special Touch Tips enable the warmth of your finger to find its way through so that you can operate touch screens without having to take off your gloves.

Night Eye™

Dark grey by day, luminous at night! The fabric is coated with lots of tiny dishes that reflect light back to its source - in your case, the traffic around you.

Ergothumb™

Ride long enough and eventually anything in an ‘unnatural’ position will start to hurt. In this case, Macna does'nt blame you, but your gear. Traditional gloves simply aren’t designed to grab the handlebar and maintain that position, sometimes for hours on end.

Ergothumb™ is an ergonomic construction that prevents wrinkling, pressure points, and pain, due to the thumb and index finger being made of one and the same panel of fabric. This creates a preformed glove that’s in its ‘natural’ position when you are riding.

30° Brace™

Aside from a closure at the cuff, long-cuffed gloves often also have a strap at the wrist. This strap is placed horizontally in most cases, which does tighten the glove, but also limits your wrist’s freedom of movement.

This complaint was easily solved by Macna’s 30° Buckle, which enables the wrist to move more freely. The Macna 30° Buckle™ has now been revised and reinforced, which has led to a 30° Brace™, rather than a buckle 2.0.

RISC™ 3D Knuckles
