Macna Progress RTX 2.0, gloves waterproof heatable

A directly laminated and electrically heated glove with a leather palm and Armax™ protection, developed for commuters and riders in cold conditions.

The improved Progress 2.0 is fully waterproof thanks to its Raintex Direct Laminate membrane, which also prevents the glove from soaking up water and getting soggy and heavy. It features a double, waterproof cuff and a comfortable thermal lining.

Dual Power Technology™ lets you choose between a 7.4- or 12-Volt power supply. Power can be supplied by a battery in the cuff or jacket, or a direct connection to the battery of your motorcycle. There are 4 heating levels, each indicated in their own colour by the battery level indicator. The indicator at the back of the hand also tells you how much power you have left, and lets you change the level by pressing it.

Alternatively, you can operate these gloves – and other garments – in the MACNA® Heated app. The app enables you to manage all your heated garments with just one hand instead of unzipping and reaching for hidden buttons. Download it for free in the known stores, connect your gloves by Bluetooth® and fully manage your e-heated ecosystem on your phone.

You can operate the app without taking your gloves off, thanks to the Touch Tip at the index finger. This same finger also features a Screen Cleaner™; a flexible extension at the ridge that lets you wipe rainwater off your visor.

Both the thumb and pinkie are constructed in an ergonomic way. Ergothumb™ means the thumb and index finger are made of one and the same panel of fabric. This reduces seams and pressure points whilst also giving a wrinkle-free look. The seam on the outside of the little finger (i.e. pinkie) is positioned in a way that prevents pressure points, Macna calls it Ergopink™.

Safety wise, flexible yet robust TPR protectors are present at the cuff and palm of the hand, and impact-absorbing EVA protection at the thumb. The latest protective innovation is placed at the knuckles and fingers, where you’ll find Macna's Armax™ protection. This unique construction does not make use of seams – the weakest link in a construction – in critical areas, which greatly increases your safety.

The buckle of the wrist strap is placed under an ergonomically optimised angle of 30 degrees, enabling optimal freedom of movement at the wrist. Last but most certainly not least, Macna opted for their own Night Eye™ fabric to raise your visibility when traffic is near you.

Goat leather

Goat leather is a strong leather with a rough texture. It is flexible, soft and durable.

Soft Flex DL

Stretch fabric with ripstop weave and directly laminated membrane. The fabric is flexible and waterproof.

Raintex DL

In some of Macna’s gear you’ll find a waterproof Raintex DL membrane, which means the waterproof membrane is laminated directly against the outer layer. This construction keeps water from penetrating membrane and outer layer, making it the best technique when it comes to waterproofing.

DL membranes prevent water from penetrating the outer layer and getting stuck between outer layer and membrane. This in turn prevents the garment from getting wet, soggy, and heavy. DL garments are also known to dry much faster than regular gear.

E-Heated

With 20 years of experience and numerous in-house developed technologies, Macna is your wingman in the cold. Macna’s e-heated ecosystem includes several garments that enable you to heat any and every body part you want.

The unique Dual Power technology lets you switch between a 7,4V and 12V power supply whenever you like. There are three ways to power your garments; a battery in the glove or jacket, or a direct connection to your motorcycle.

Batteries feature Macna’s Power Expansion System, which divides the cells of a battery in an ergonomic way to prevent bulk at the wrists. Bluetooth® technology is present in their ecosystem, enabling you to connect all garments to the MACNA Heated app and control them with one hand.

Macna’s e-heated ecosystem provides full freedom when it comes to combining different garments and a suitable power supply to brave the cold.

Easy Connect Plug

A connection that is easy to use and fully waterproof. The Easy Connect Plug can resist vibrations, yet is also smooth enough to unplug instead of tear when you forget to unplug before getting off your motorcycle. That’s what Macna calls a flexible e-heated ecosystem!

Water Exhaust™

Membranes indeed block water, but that doesn’t mean water is unable to penetrate the outer layer. This can cause water to get trapped between outer layer and membrane, resulting in your glove becoming wet, cold, and soggy.

By fitting a glove with a Water Exhaust™, Macna prevents it (and your hand) from getting soaked, cold, and soggy. The Water Exhaust™ drains any excess rainwater that wants to accumulate between the waterproof Raintex membrane and outer layer, causing the glove to dry much faster.

Screen Cleaner™

There are multiple ways to combat humidity on the visor of your helmet, such as anti-condense sprays and anti-fog lenses. But what can you do against actual rain hitting your field of vision? Twist the throttle and try to make it fly off?

There’s a safer and user-friendly solution to this issue, located at the index fingers of Macna’s gloves. You’ll find a flexible Screen Cleaner™ that functions like a wiper blade at both hands to enable usage when riding as well as when standing still at, for example, a traffic light.

Ergothumb™

Ride long enough and eventually anything in an ‘unnatural’ position will start to hurt. In this case, Macna does'nt blame you, but your gear. Traditional gloves simply aren’t designed to grab the handlebar and maintain that position, sometimes for hours on end.

Ergothumb™ is an ergonomic construction that prevents wrinkling, pressure points, and pain, due to the thumb and index finger being made of one and the same panel of fabric. This creates a preformed glove that’s in its ‘natural’ position when you are riding.

Ergopink™

This ergonomic solution was developed after the success of Macna’s Ergothumb™ construction. Now that the hands of riders were comfortable on the inside of the handlebar, Macna shifted their attention to the outside – to the little finger (i.e. pinkie) to be exact.

Ergopink™ refers to Macna’s ergonomic solution at the outside of the hand. By repositioning the seams on the outside of the pinkie finger, they’ve managed to prevent pressure points and increase your comfort at the handlebar even further.

EVA Protection

R.I.S.C. EVA protection consists of rubber foam underneath the outer shell. Protection with EVA padding is flexible and resilient as it recovers quickly from compression.

EVA foam excels in absorbing vibrations and impact forces. It is also characterized by its good thermal insulation as well as low water-absorption.

Other advantages are its softness, non-toxicity, stress-crack resistance and resistance to ultraviolet radiation which makes EVA suitable for many purposes.

Powervein™

Powervein wiring was created 20 years ago and further developed over the past two decades. Most notable improvement is the quality of the wiring, which greatly increases overall durability and effective heat release.

Night Eye™

Dark grey by day, luminous at night! The fabric is coated with lots of tiny dishes that reflect light back to its source - in your case, the traffic around you.

Centrack™ (Gloves)

You’re gearing up and almost ready to ride. After tying your shoe laces, closing your pants, and zipping up your jacket, you turn to your gloves. To your dismay, you see the wrist straps have slipped out of their buckles – again!

Centrack™ is an ingenious design – of both the buckle and strap – that prevents the strap from slipping out of its buckle. This in turn prevents you from fidgeting it back in, time after time again. The buckle is able to rotate so it can move with the rider when needed.

Armax™

In order to keep improving the safety of Macna’s products and thus of motorcyclists, their designers are constantly being challenged. In this case, they were tasked to find and revise the notorious weakest link during a crash.

After analysing hundreds of suits and gloves caught in high-speed crashes, low speed crashes, high siders and low siders, the weakest link turned out to be anything but surprising: the seams.

What did surprise; seams can be found in all major impact zones like elbows, knees, and shoulders. Has the industry been holding things together with a piece of string? Yikes! This could use some macnafication.

Material composition

78% goat leather, 12% polyuretane, 8% polyester, 2% other fibers
