Macna Recon 2.0, gloves

A short-cuffed glove with stretchy elastane and preformed protection at the knuckles and gel at the palm, suited for riders in hot riding conditions.

The improved Recon 2.0 consists of elastane at the back of the hand and a cuff made of soft, comfy neoprene. The palm of the glove is made of synthetic nubuck, with an extra layer reinforcing the most critical area, and a grip print to provide additional grip.

Macna opted for their RISC™ 3D knuckle protection made of temper foam, also called memory foam as it’ll return to its original shape after absorbing forces. The outside of the thumb and the fingers are fitted with impact-absorbent EVA protection and the palm features gel protection.

This glove features Macna's Ergothumb™ construction, meaning the thumb and index finger are made of one and the same panel of fabric, which reduces seams and pressure points whilst also giving a wrinkle-free look.

Heat-conductive fabric is fitted at the tips of the index fingers. Thanks to the Touch Tip, you’ll be able to operate touch screens without taking your gloves off.

Brushed synthetic leather which is soft, flexible, breathable and has the look of real suede.

Touch Tip

Touch screens dominate the modern day and age. Smartphones, tablets, and even more important for us motorcyclists: navigation systems. It is nice those screens work by touch, but that’s not really helpful when you’re wearing gloves.

That’s why Maca opts for heat-conductive fabric at the tips of the index fingers. These special Touch Tips enable the warmth of your finger to find its way through so that you can operate touch screens without having to take off your gloves.

EVA Protection

R.I.S.C. EVA protection consists of rubber foam underneath the outer shell. Protection with EVA padding is flexible and resilient as it recovers quickly from compression.

EVA foam excels in absorbing vibrations and impact forces. It is also characterized by its good thermal insulation as well as low water-absorption.

Other advantages are its softness, non-toxicity, stress-crack resistance and resistance to ultraviolet radiation which makes EVA suitable for many purposes.

Ergothumb™

Ride long enough and eventually anything in an ‘unnatural’ position will start to hurt. In this case, Macna does'nt blame you, but your gear. Traditional gloves simply aren’t designed to grab the handlebar and maintain that position, sometimes for hours on end.

Ergothumb™ is an ergonomic construction that prevents wrinkling, pressure points, and pain, due to the thumb and index finger being made of one and the same panel of fabric. This creates a preformed glove that’s in its ‘natural’ position when you are riding.
