A long-cuffed glove with a reinforced leather palm and EXO RISC™ protection at the knuckles, suited for adventurous riders in cold riding conditions.

The Tyrian consists of elastane at the back of the hand and synthetic nubuck at the palm, with an extra layer reinforcing the most critical areas. It is lined, insulated, and fitted with a waterproof Raintex membrane, making it suitable for cold riding conditions.

Areas of the palm and fingers are reinforced with thermoplastic rubber (TPR) which is rubber-like in its finish and flexibility and provides impact absorption. Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) is used at the thumb and has similar properties.

EXO RISC™ protection can be found at the fingers and the knuckles are protected by a combination of EXO RISC™ and impact-absorbent temper foam. Diagonally below the knuckle protection you’ll find a strap with Macna's 30° Buckle™, which enables your wrist to move as freely as possible.

This glove features Macna's Ergothumb™ construction, meaning the thumb and index finger are made of one and the same panel of fabric. This reduces seams and pressure points whilst also giving a wrinkle-free look.

Heat-conductive fabric is fitted at the tips of the index fingers. Thanks to the Touch Tip, you’ll be able to operate touch screens without taking your gloves off. On the edge of that same finger Macna fitted a Screen Cleaner™ to let you clear your vision quickly and easily.

Bemberg™

An artificial textile fiber obtained from natural materials, including cellulose from a variety of botanical sources, and featuring a silky texture, used as a lining inside gloves in order to offer a pleasant and comfortable contact zone.

Touch Tip

Touch screens dominate the modern day and age. Smartphones, tablets, and even more important for us motorcyclists: navigation systems. It is nice those screens work by touch, but that’s not really helpful when you’re wearing gloves.

That’s why Maca opts for heat-conductive fabric at the tips of the index fingers. These special Touch Tips enable the warmth of your finger to find its way through so that you can operate touch screens without having to take off your gloves.

Screen Cleaner™

There are multiple ways to combat humidity on the visor of your helmet, such as anti-condense sprays and anti-fog lenses. But what can you do against actual rain hitting your field of vision? Twist the throttle and try to make it fly off?

There’s a safer and user-friendly solution to this issue, located at the index fingers of Macna’s gloves. You’ll find a flexible Screen Cleaner™ that functions like a wiper blade at both hands to enable usage when riding as well as when standing still at, for example, a traffic light.

Ergothumb™

Ride long enough and eventually anything in an ‘unnatural’ position will start to hurt. In this case, Macna does'nt blame you, but your gear. Traditional gloves simply aren’t designed to grab the handlebar and maintain that position, sometimes for hours on end.

Ergothumb™ is an ergonomic construction that prevents wrinkling, pressure points, and pain, due to the thumb and index finger being made of one and the same panel of fabric. This creates a preformed glove that’s in its ‘natural’ position when you are riding.

30° Brace™

Aside from a closure at the cuff, long-cuffed gloves often also have a strap at the wrist. This strap is placed horizontally in most cases, which does tighten the glove, but also limits your wrist’s freedom of movement.

This complaint was easily solved by Macna’s 30° Buckle, which enables the wrist to move more freely. The Macna 30° Buckle™ has now been revised and reinforced, which has led to a 30° Brace™, rather than a buckle 2.0.

EXO RISC™

In order to keep improving the comfort of Macna’s products and thus of motorcyclists, our designers are constantly being challenged. At the start of 2021, they were tasked to take another look at breathability of protectors.

Protectors are often sturdy covers that protect very well, but lack a five-star rating in other areas. Being hard, impact-absorbent and abrasion-resistant is likely to make a protector score low when it comes to breathability and flexibility.

Strange thing is; your body often catches more than enough wind, so breathability doesn’t have to be an issue. How are we going to flex a hard cover, though? This could use some macnafication.
