The SHOEI J-Cruise3 premium jet helmet opens up new perspectives when riding through the city, relaxed cruising or extended touring, regardless of the bike.

The large panoramic visor allows an almost limitless view, while an integrated, infinitely adjustable sun visor provides effective glare protection. With a high-performance ventilation system, even inner-city rides through hot urban canyons become a cool ride.

The COMLINK interface allows seamless integration of the SRL3 communication system from SENA, so that you are always connected and up-to-date while riding.

Homologated according to test standard ECE-R 22.06, the SHOEI J-Cruise3 is also up to date in terms of safety.

Visor

• The panoramic visor CJ-2 of high optical quality offers an almost unrestricted view in horizontal and vertical dimensions, distortion-free deep into the periphery of the field of vision, it reduces the penetration of more than 99% of incident UV radiation into the inside of the helmet
• The spoiler edge on the underside of the visor prevents the penetration of unpleasant wind draughts and stabilizes the visor against torsion
• Locked in the stable, first grid position, the slightly open visor allows fresh air into the inside of the helmet to reduce fogging of the visor when riding slowly
• An optionally available PINLOCK EVO visor effectively reduces the tendency of the visor to mist up in unfavorable weather conditions
• A locking function prevents the visor from opening unintentionally
• The integrated, high-quality QSV-2 sun visor of the SHOEI J-Cruise3 is infinitely extendable, it covers the usable field of vision almost completely and can be easily replaced with an optional, yellow-tinted visor with contrast-enhancing effect without the need for tools
• A heavily tinted visor and an attachable helmet peak are available for even more glare protection

Wearing comfort

• The wide opening of the SHOEI J-Cruise3 makes it easy to put on and take off the helmet
• The distinctively contoured head padding supports air circulation in the helmet and, like the three-dimensionally pre-shaped cheek pads and chin strap padding, is fully removable and washable
• Removable ear pads in the ear area contribute effectively to noise reduction
• The comfortably narrow chin strap with stainless steel micro-ratchet fastener is easy to use and holds the helmet securely in position
• A minimum lifting angle of the release lever prevents unintentional opening of the chin strap
• With alternative head and cheek pads in different thicknesses, the helmet can be adapted to individual head shapes
• A separately available pad for insertion in the upper head area also allows the vertical fit of the helmet to be adjusted

Safety

• The proven composite material AIM (Advanced Integrated Matrix) enables a compact and lightweight construction of the outer shell of the SHOEI J-Cruise3
• In combination with a polystyrene core system made up of several elements with different absorption capacities, the helmet shell offers protection and safety and meets the high requirements of the new ECE-R 22.06 test standard for motorcycle helmets
• 3 different outer shell sizes (XS-M | L | XL-XXL) allow the SHOEI J-Cruise3 to cover a wide range of sizes with an optimum ratio of helmet to head size

Ventilation

• Ventilation openings (3 in, 3 out) optimally positioned in the flow area of the airstream increase the performance of the ventilation outlets by around 70% compared to the previous model and significantly reduce the temperature and humidity inside the helmet
• Distinctly contoured, large ventilation regulators allow targeted ventilation control adapted to the thermal conditions

Accessories

• A heavily tinted visor is available as an alternative for the SHOEI J.Cruise3, which can be used in compliance with ECE homologation guidelines
• Separately available anti-fog PINLOCK EVO lenses can be attached to the visors suitable for this helmet
• The integrated, heavily tinted QSV-2 sun visor can be replaced with a yellow-tinted version with a contrast-enhancing effect
• The SHOEI range of accessories includes a chin strap pad as well as cheek pads and head pads in various sizes and thicknesses to replace the original pads or to customize the helmet padding
• The vertical fit of the helmet can be adjusted with an insertable pad for the upper head area
• The SHOEI COMLINK interface of the J-Cruise3 can be used with the SENA SRL3 Mesh communication system from the SHOEI range of accessories

AIM outer shell (Advanced Integrated Matrix)

The Shoei helmet shell is a three-dimensional structure made of several layers of glass fibers and organic fibers - the so-called Advanced Integrated Matrix. The organic fibers reinforce the glass fibers and optimize weight.

The structure is bonded by an unsaturated, thermosetting polyester resin. This resin acquires its desired properties during heat curing: high elasticity and resistance. This technology allows a helmet shell characterized by high strength with low weight.

The AIM helmet shell is designed to distribute the forces acting during an impact over the helmet shell. The outer shell and inner core may show damage, but the rider's head is afforded the greatest possible protection.

Heavy, hard outer shells do not have this property and transfer the energy of an impact to the inside of the helmet without reduction. The outer shell may be undamaged, but the rider suffers head injuries. This is especially true of helmets designed to resist penetration by sharp objects.

Two factors determine the perceived weight of a helmet: the real weight of the helmet and the dynamic weight caused by wind pressure and acceleration.

In the event of an impact, the real weight is decisive for the acceleration forces acting on the neck.

The heaviest part of a helmet is the helmet shell. Because the helmet shell is also the part that is subjected to the most stress during a fall, the requirements for a lightweight helmet shell are complex.

Shoei's vast experience in processing fiber composites has enabled it to develop the extremely strong yet lightweight AIM and AIM+ helmet shells.

Polystyrene core with different densities

Every Shoei helmet sold in Europe has an inner shell adapted to the European head shape.

The combination of several styrofoam elements in different densities provides effective impact absorption.

• The upper part of the inner shell is softer than the outer part.
• The relatively hard outer part of the inner shell increases the absorption capacity in the event of an impact.

This technology was developed and patented by Shoei.

Styrofoam has very good shock absorption properties. However, there is one drawback: if the Styrofoam core is compressed by an impact, it will expand back to its original size after a considerable amount of time. It looks intact, but by no means achieves the same shock absorption properties as before.

This is also the reason why Shoei does not test helmets after an accident. It is impossible to judge whether the helmet is still safe.

Wearing comfort and fit

The shape and material of the pads play an important role in the comfort and fit of the helmet.

• The material that touches the rider's skin is critical to comfort.
• The fit of the helmet affects how well the helmet holds the rider, especially at high speeds.

In the past, these requirements often played against each other. Thick, soft pads provided good comfort, but the helmet did not have a good grip at high speeds.

Shoei has taken its own approach to designing the padding. The helmet's styrofoam core is molded close around the rider's head. This allows thinner pads to be used. These are produced in a complex process from several layers of polyurethane foam in different hardnesses or by a three-dimensional cut from a block.

The result offers high comfort and a perfect fit, even at high speeds.

The closure system

Currently, Shoei offers two different closure systems for the chin strap, depending on the helmet model.

The double-D system is mainly used in Shoei's "sporty" helmets. This system is mandatory for racing helmets. It offers the greatest reserves in the event of a fall.

Shoei's more comfort-oriented helmet models are equipped with a Microrat system. Unlike most other systems, the Shoei micro-ratchet system has a stainless steel locking mechanism. This ensures maximum safety in addition to comfort.
